Thodeekkalam Temple

Thodeekkalam Temple

Thodeekkalam Sree Siva Temple is situated at Thodeekkam, about 29 k.m. from Thalassery. The temple is situated in Chittariparamba Grama Panchayat. The wall of the temple is painted with mural arts. The paints used for painting is made of some rare plant leaves.

Pazhassi Raja (otherwise known as Keralasimham) had visited here frequently. He believed that Lord Thodeekkalam Sree Siva and goddess SreePorkali were his supreme Gods.

Since the old paintings were ruined a group of lovers of art initiated the innovation task. Publicity regarding the matter was so great that outstanding personalities in mural arts came prepared. Now the arts have been retouched and refreshed.

A well set up swimming pool is an outstanding asset of this temple. A committee for the innovation work is still on.
